Monkey Paw Alpha® Winter Cycling Gloves (Black)

Had the chance to wear them on a couple rides already, they're warm yet not too warm, soft and comfortable. Probably becoming my goto pair of gloves for cold temperatures!

Hands down the best gloves I’ve used. Warm enough for Swedish Winter. Should have measured my hands though. Took large since I consider that my hands are not that big. But I could have probably taken XL. Gloves fit tight and are still very usable.

I bought these after getting frustrated with my existing winter cycling gloves, a Carnac pair which cost a third of the price. Things that annoyed me about the Carnacs: Bulky, poor finger dexterity on shifters, getting things out of pockets, etc, no conductive fingertips for using a device without taking gloves off, really hard to get gloves back on again with clammy mid-ride hands!

From others' reviews it sounded like the Monkey Paw Alphas might be the answer to my prayers, and in the sale were a really reasonable price. Having used these for a week of commuting in minging British winter weather I can safely say they are low bulk, give great dexterity for fishing things out of pockets and accurately flipping trigger shifters; they are very warm and windproof with no cold spots round fingertips, but my hands don't get clammy so must breathe well. They are easy to get on and off, and the conductive finger/thumb tip works well. I've not used these in really frigid conditions yet but down to ~4-5C they've been fine. The DWR coating doesn't seem to promote any beading of water, the fabric seems to wet pretty quickly, but that said on my 30 min commute in the rain my hands stayed warm and dry, and they gloves don't claim to be waterproof.

As others have noted, a soft patch for nose / sweaty forehead wipe on the thumb would be a welcome. Another suggestion for VC R&D would be to make the silicone gorilla 'fur' on the back out of a reflective material to enhance night time visibility (and give a cool 'silverback' vibe).

All in all, another great VC product which will hopefully keep my mitts warm and dry for many rides to come.

Great gloves, warm without being bulky. I have typically got very cold hands, but these keep them toasty.

Quality is great and yep they are warm, but size stated was not exactly right, my palm is slightly in the cuff part.

Had chance wear these this week so cold morning but nothing major defo don’t ride in -5 weather but it’s been 0 degrees this week and the gloves have been spot on 👌🏻 wore them everyday this week still look as good as new , lovely & warm 👌🏻

These are amazingly good. I have struggled with cold hands for years on the bike but not anymore. Really impressed with how thin they are but still really warm

Ive used a lot of premium gloves and always had problems with cold fingers - these gloves are excellent, easily the warmest ive used but very low bulk which is great to keep bike feel and dexterity.
The bright orange is also superb for visibility.
Not a criticism, but perhaps a request for a different model with a slightly more padded palm area for extra comfort as this area is quite thin on these gloves. Overall couldn't recommend highly enough.

This is my first item from VC and it met my expectations. Solid, well-made and with Alpha lining. Perfect for winter riders.

Excellent product. Noticeable warmth without the bulk normally associated with winter gloves. Sizing was spot on. Went by knuckle measurements rather than length.

Super warm, and the finger length is perfect for me based on the size guide! The only thing stopping me giving them a 10/10 is that the back of the hand part of the glove is quite baggy. If they fitted better here they'd be perfect 👌

Spring has arrived, making it the perfect time to review these gloves after wearing them throughout the UK winter. My hands stayed lovely and toasty warm during every ride, and the sizing is perfect. I have deducted one star because I would have preferred a soft section on the thumb or another area of the glove to wipe my nose after firing a snot missile; the monkey hair design on the glove isn't the most comfortable against the face.

I’m really impressed with these gloves. When I’m riding hard in 2-4 degree weather I rate some Lusso gloves. But when in heart rate zone two these are the best I’ve found. The insulation is not bulky or restrictive like the Galiber gloves that just wouldn’t keep Me warm.

I’m super impressed but how they move with your hand and keep me warm. 5 stars in my opinion.

I’d love to see more Alpha products from VC.

After a bit of a delivery mix up, I got these gloves for Xmas and have worn them through the coldest wettest weather and they have been superb- warm and toasty, semi-waterproof, still grippy on the bars when the trails are gloopy,would definitely recommend

Tried these out on a cold winters day and they coped very well. Nice fit and great looking but also deliver in keeping hands warm. Weather was about 3 degrees and dry.

So pleased with my purchase of Monkey Paw winter gloves. Tried them this week during a cold 2 hrs cycle and they were great, returned home with warm hands. I am female and ordered a small which are a perfect fit. The best gloves I have had.

Have worn these at bike park wales in -1 windchill and also on my road bike at 7 degrees. Not too hot, breathable and grippy.
Easy to get on and off too which is a bonus when needing to eat etc..
recommend - hoping VC bring out more alpha products

I really love these gloves; they are toasty warm and have great grip while cycling in cold winter conditions. Would definitely recommend!

The build quality to these gloves is the same as all of the stuff you buy from these guys fantastic and the fit is good and the colour is awesome

Snuggly, warm gloves, perfect for cold days. The monkey paw design makes me smile, top banana 🍌

Despite some scepticism over the relatively thin padding, these have proved very comfy during 4 and 5 hour rides. Haven’t used in properly cold conditions yet. But happy with comfort and size. During rides in 8-12C conditions.

Bought as a gift, so can't say much, but look good quality 😁

Really great and warm. Index finger that works for ohone touch screen is super helpful.
