Men’s Detachable Cargo Bib Shorts

We’ve taken the super popular quick release magnetic clasp from our women’s bib shorts and incorporated it into our bestselling men’s cargo bib shorts. This system allows for quick, easy removal without removing jerseys or compromising comfort or performance.

Over half a million people in the UK are living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), specifically Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis. Many of those will be cyclists. I’ve spoken about my Ulcerative Colitis diagnosis in the past and since then a number of other Chimpeurs have got in touch to discuss it: how it impacts our cycling; how we can continue chasing our goals (in particular long distance rides) and what we can do improve things. 

One thing was common in these chats, we often hit the very same issue our detachable bib shorts already solve for our female Chimpeurs. In the earlier days of Victory Chimp, this didn’t feel like something I could help with. New technical development is expensive, factory minimums are high and demand is unknown. But now we’re willing to take the risk that there aren’t more than a few cyclists out there like myself who would love something like this but have just never asked.

To all intents and purposes, these are the very same cargo bib shorts that have won awards, topped cycling media group tests and been loved by tens of thousands of our Chimpeurs. We’ve simply reconstructed them to incorporating a magnetic closure to the rear of the straps, enabling quick release with one hand, and quick relief without removing any other clothing. Positioned for easy access just below the jersey back pockets, the clasp is constructed with injection molded plastic for resilience, ensuring it will never come undone. It is attached to the shorts with a durable grosgrain fabric. This system allows for quick removal without compromising comfort or performance.

With a large pocket on each leg, these bibs provide easy access to snacks and essentials, freeing you from the traditional jersey and allowing for casual style on the bike. High-stretch mesh fabric ensures your stuff is kept in place. Pair with our trail shirts and hit the gravel.

The culmination of two years research and development, the main fabric is an incredibly soft, four-way stretch woven lycra in an ergonomic six-panel construction, moving with the body to ensure optimum fit and support.

An award-winning CyTech Elastic Interface® Endurance 2.5 HD chamois provides supreme comfort in the saddle on the very longest rides and toughest gravel, utilising dual high-density foams and an anatomic fit to reduce bulk and pressure, ensuring maximum protection and blood flow. The perforated fabric is designed to ensure quick-drying for multi-day adventures.

Seamless 50mm integrated soft silicone grippers keep the legs in place, with just the right level of compression at the thigh, finishing just above the knee with a smooth laser cut edge. Minimal flatlock seams are positioned carefully throughout to hold the shorts in place in the highest comfort.

The bib section uses high-stretch material to accommodate longer torsos and a lightweight mesh to keep the upper section cool. Low profile, laser cut straps eliminate chafing and barely show beneath even the closest fitting jerseys.

The shorts are made from 100% pre-dyed fabrics, meaning they will remain a deep navy when stretched and after washing. Finished with minimal branding to go with any jersey, with woven Out There patch under the bibs.
